At the end of January, after a quick interlude in Gouda, I spent the night in Amsterdam as I had an early morning flight departure to Johannesburg. I lived in Amsterdam in the early 60sh and witnessed small Tobacconist converting to the to the more lucrative sex shops. The window displays changed from the traditional Delft Blue Tobacco jars with brass lids along with hand rolled cigars in wooden boxes, to condoms and sex toys. The Dutch soon got used to the change and hardly notice them.
As I made my way to my hotel, my eye caught the Condomerie and its window display. It was bustling with smiling tourist, and I took a quick photo.
It was early the next morning, as I made my way to the train station, that I noticed the lack of tourists and was able to take some close ups.
Oh my, leave it to the Dutch, to their creativity and imagination.
